About Me

My photo
I am Sarah, a stay at home mom of two wonderful, little boys. In my life before kids I was a fifth grade teacher. I now work with first year teachers, which I love. Creating is one of the ways I stay sane. I become very cranky if I have not stamped or scrapped in a while. Join me on this creative journey.

Beate's Weekend sketch #58

Happy Friday Night! I could fall asleep right now but I find the evenings are my busiest times! I wanted to give you an update about the swap the other night. I really had a good time, the host Kim and all the other women were very sweet and welcoming to a newcomer. Plus they were all very talented. Next month we are doing a swap on holiday cards, I will ask their permission to post some. We also made these cool key rings with 2 x3 swatches of all the designer paper on it! Fun stuff!

I really liked the sketch from Beate this week. I have been itching to open my Grand Soiree stamp set but haven't had the opportunity to do so. The stamp set calls out for something a little elegant, I hope that came across. Anyway I embossed the swirl thing from Baroque Motifs in silver and I used the faux metal technique on the Ain't life Grand tag. If you don't know how to do this, give it a try it is very easy and looks like a million bucks. ( I know, you would rather have the cash) For the faux metal I punched out the oval tag and put it in the Versamark, I poured silver embossing powder on it and heated it, I continued to put more embossing powder and heated it at least four times. The last time I took my Ain't life Grand stamp and placed it in the still hot tag. I wouldn't recommend using brads, they could tear the tag, ( I hide it well) I hope you like it and have a great night.

I just wanted to leave you with this photo. I took Elias to Nordstrom today for his first pair of shoes. Yep, that's my guy running away. There is no stopping him now. Enjoy
